What happens in the first session?
The first session will focus on gathering important information about you, your child, and/or your family. We will discuss your history, the concerns that brought you to therapy, and your goals for our work together. You are the expert so we will rely on you to help us understand your unique story. This initial session will last approximately 15 minutes.
How do I know you are the right therapist?
Feel free to ask any questions you may have about us, our training, or therapy in general as you make
your decision. The most important factor in successful therapy is how comfortable you feel with your
therapist.
We take a solutions-focused approach, providing strategies and goals to work on after each session. Our
priority is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your feelings and navigate
challenges with confidence.
How long will therapy take?
The number of therapy sessions you might need depends on your specific goals and the reasons for
seeking support. On average, people attend about 12 sessions, but some find value in just a few, while
others benefit from ongoing work over a longer period.
For some, a few sessions are enough to learn helpful skills and strategies to address their concerns.
Together, we’ll tailor the process to suit your unique needs and goals.
How often do I come?
At the start, we typically recommend attending sessions more frequently—usually on a weekly basis.
This helps establish the relationship and build trust more quickly. Additionally, therapeutic skills often
build on one another, much like learning math, so consistent sessions help maintain steady progress. We’ll discuss the best frequency for your sessions when creating your personalized treatment plan to
ensure it aligns with your goals and needs.
Are you a participating provider with insurance companies?
No, I don't accept insurance. It is self-pay.
What is your rate?
The way I work is that I start with a conversation to find out more about you and your challenges. The
conversation will give me valuable information about you and your situation and to see how I can help.
Do you offer in-office or telehealth appointments?
I offer both in-office and telehealth.
How long are sessions?
Individual sessions are 50-minutes.
Couples session are 75-minutes.
